United International University Debate Club (UIUDC) became champion in the Martyred Dr Shamsuzzoha Memorial 6th Gold Bangladesh National Debate Fest 2022.
The fest was held on September 2-3, 2022 at Rajshahi University, said a press release issued on Wednesday.
Prof Golam Shabbir Sattar, vice-chancellor of Rajshahi University, was present as the chief guest and handed over the champion trophy to the winning teams.
Prof Md Sultan-Ul-Islam, pro-vice-chancellor of Rajshahi University, was present as the special guest.
Among others, Prof Dr Pradip Kumar Panday, Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Prof Dr Md Rabiul Islam, Department of Social Work, University of Rajshahi and Tasmia Haque, president, Gold Bangladesh were present in the program.
A team of three members from UIUDC participated in this fest.
They are MM Tasnim, Department of Economics, Abdullah Al Habib Badhon, Department of CSE and KM Ismail Safa, Department of Economics.
Among them, Abdullah Al Habib Badhon became “Debater of the Tournament” and “Debater of the Final” at a time.
UIUDC team is the undefeated national champion in the debate fest.
A total of 28 teams from 28 different private and public universities including Dhaka University, Jahangirnagar University, Jagannath University, Rajshahi University, Khulna University, Cuet, Ruet, East West University, United International University, among others, participated in the national debate fest.
