The next national election will be held with the participation of all parties and the Election Commission will do whatever is necessary to ensure it, said Election Commissioner Brigadier General (Retd) Ahsan Habib Khan.
“There is no doubt that the polls will be fair using electronic voting machines (EVMs). Those who are raising questions about it, don’t clearly understand it,” he told reporters after a program in Jessore on Friday
“In addition to CCTV, there will be the members of Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) and girls guide for security. Besides, journalists will be allowed to enter the polling stations.”
Suggestions would also be taken to improve the polling environment, if necessary, he added.
Chaugachha Upazila Executive Officer Irufa Sultana, District Election Officer Anisur Rahman, Upazila Election Officer Salim Reza, Chaugachha Police Station OC Saiful Islam Sabuj and local journalists were present among others.
