The woman who harassed another woman in Narsingdi railway station over her outfit three months ago has been granted bail.

The High Court bench of Justice Md Zakir Hossain and Justice AKM Jahirul Haque granted her bail for six months.

Police arrested Shila Akhter Marzia for assaulting another woman over her outfit on May 30.

The next day, a Narsingdi court granted the police three days to grill her in custody.

On May 18, a young woman was physically assaulted over her outfit at Narsingdi railway station on her way to Dhaka from Narsingdi.

According to witnesses, the woman and her two friends were waiting for the Dhaka Mail train leaving Chittagong. At that time, a middle-aged woman standing at the station saw them and made offensive remarks.

When the young woman protested, an argument started between the two. At one point, the older woman went to assault the young woman and her two friends protested.

Then some men standing at the station got into another argument with the two boys and went to beat them up.

Later, the young woman along with her friends went to the station master's room for safety.

A video of the incident went viral on social media, sparking criticism.

The railway police officials had filed a case under Sections 10 and 30 of the Women and Child Repression Prevention Act at Bhairab Railway Police Station, naming Shila and one Md Ismail Mia in the case and accusing 10 other men of the offence.
