HC orders Salim Khan to surrender

The ACC filed a case against Salim Khan for acquiring illegal wealth worth Tk34.53 crore

The High Court has directed Salim Khan, the chairman of Lakshmipur Model Union Parishad (UP) of Chandpur Sadar to surrender within three weeks in a case filed over the acquisition of wealth. 

The High Court bench of Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice Md Salim rejected his bail application on Sunday.

Earlier, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against Salim Khan for acquiring illegal wealth of Tk34.53 crore. 

ACC Assistant Director Ataur Rahman filed the case on August 1.

Complaint against Salim Khan of illegally obtaining wealth of Tk 34,53,81,119 and keeping it in his possession inconsistently with his known income was mentioned in the case. 

Besides, he has hidden information about assets worth over Tk66.99 lakh, according to the case documents

Later, Salim Khan applied to the High Court seeking anticipatory bail in the case.
