Update : 08 Aug 2022, 03:26 PM

A warehouse was sealed off in Bogra after a mobile court seized around 15,000 bags of illegally stored Urea and DAP fertilizer on Sunday.

The mobile court headed by Bogra Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Samar Kumar Pal seized the fertilizers from Manju-Karim's warehouse in the Erulia area around midnight.

At that time, two trucks were also seized.

UNO Samar Kumar Pal said Nazmul Parvez Kanak, the warehouse owner’s son has fled, as he used to look after the business.

“He was illegally storing fertilizer in warehouses and selling it to farmers at a higher profit in 12 upazilas of the district and neighboring Naogaon at a higher rate.”

“He is not a dealer or businessman. Legal actions will be taken against him,” the UNO noted.

Warehouse guard Mojibur Rahman said that the warehouse was empty earlier and the fertilizer was being stocked since last month.

Bogra Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner Nurul Islam, Erulia Union Chairman Atiqur Rahman among others were present during the raid.
