2 filling stations fined Tk1,50,000 for short-selling customers in Comilla

During raids, the Directorate of National Consumers' Right Protection of Comilla verified 30 weighing machines at 12 filling stations

A total of two filling stations have been fined Tk1,50,000 for selling customers short in Comilla.

Mohammad Asadul Islam, assistant director Directorate of National Consumers' Right Protection of Comilla, fined them on Sunday.

He said that raids were conducted at the filling stations of Paduar Bazar, Alekharchar and Kalakchua International Road areas in Comilla district where 30 weighing machines at 12 filling stations were verified.

“At that time, Riverview CNG Filling Station of Suratali Paduar Bazar area was fined Tk1,00,000 for supplying less than expected amount of oil and tampering with the measuring device and East Zone Filling Station Ltd. of Kalakchua area was fined Tk50,000 for tampering with the measurement,” he added.

At that time, BSTI Comilla Regional Office Inspector Mohammad Anichur Rahman and a team of district police were present.

Mohammad Asadul mentioned that the raids will continue to prevent any kind of fraud in filling stations.
