At least three people were killed and nine others injured in a head-on collision between two buses in Sherpur upazila of Bogra on Friday.
The incident took place at the Ghoga Bridge area on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway around 3pm.
AKM Baniul Anam, officer-in-charge of Highway Police Sherpur Camp, said a Dhaka-bound “Naogaon Travels” bus leaving from Naogaon hit another bus of “Akhi Paribahan” coming from the opposite direction, leaving two people dead and ten others injured.
The injured have been admitted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where doctors declared one of the injured persons dead, he added.
However, the identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
The bodies have been kept at the hospital morgue and a case has been filed in this regard.
Meanwhile, the incident disrupted traffic on the highway for an hour.
