A woman from Malaysia has flown thousands of miles to Comilla to marry the Bangladeshi man she fell in love with.
Nur Azima got married to Saiful Islam by following all religious rituals on Tuesday evening.
Earlier on Monday, Azima came to Saiful’s residence from Penang, Malaysia, Md Ishaq, chairman of Silmuri Union Parishad, confirmed to Dhaka Tribune.
Citing locals, he said that Saiful, of Dighalgaon village of Silmuri union under Baruda upazila, had spent more than 10 years in Malaysia due to business purpose.
“There he got acquainted with Azima and fell in love with her,” he added.
Saiful said: “Azima is a very polite and elegant woman. We got married with the consent of both families. She has expressed interest in staying in Bangladesh.”
