Tangail at risk of flooding as Jamuna flowing above danger level

Several roads and thousands of acres of land and other crops have been submerged by the water

Flood waters are entering the lower areas of different upazilas of Tangail as the water level of Jamuna River is now above the danger level. 

The water level of Jamuna River increased by 10cm and was flowing over 5cm above the danger level on Saturday evening, said Sirajul Islam, executive engineer of Water Development Board of Tangail.

He added that the flood situation is deteriorating as the danger level is exceeded.

The people of the char region are in panic due to the recent flood situation across the country.

The rapid flow of water has started breaking the regional small and big roads and ghats. 

Thousands of acres of land including jute, paddy, sesame, almond and other crops have been submerged at the same time.
