Devotees protest BJP leaders' anti-Islam remarks in Khulna

Khulna city faced huge traffic on the roads due to several rallies and demonstrations

Several rallies and demonstrations were held in Khulna on Friday to protest against the BJP leaders’ offensive remarks against the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in India.

The protesters demanded exemplary punishment for the accused.

The Khulna District Imam Parishad organized the rally at the Baitun Noor Mosque premises adjacent to New Market, led by District Imam Parishad President Maulana Md Saleh.

However, it later turned into a mass stream in the presence of people from all walks of life.

Although there was a rally at the Baitun Noor Mosque premises, it was extended from the ferry terminal to Joragate with the participation of devotees. As a result, the city faced huge traffic on the roads.

The protestors said that they will not make “Punjabi” with any Indian cloth anymore. 

They also said that they will boycott every kind of attire, cosmetics and products of India and every Indian television channel. 

Speakers at the rally said that Indian BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma had made “ugly” remarks and utter lies about the Holy Prophet (PBUH). 

Even if she is sent to jail, that would not be enough, they added.
