Police in Moulvibazar detained a man for allegedly killing his wife in Sreemangal upazila.
The deceased, Jharna Kurmi, was found hanging from a ceiling fan at their home in Shurobhipara area of the upazila. She was a teacher at a local school.
Jharna’s husband Sanjay Kurmi was sent to jail by a Moulvibazar court on Saturday.
The deceased’s paternal uncle filed a murder case with Sreemangal police station naming five people including Sanjay, his father Siudhani Kurmi, mother Pratima Kurmi, sister Gitarani Kurmi and cousin Tuli Kurmi on Friday.
The other accused in the case have not been arrested yet, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sreemangal police station Nayan Karkun.
