The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized over 1kg crystal meth and 10,000 pieces of Yaba pills from Bangladesh-Myanmar border in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Saturday.
Tipped off, a team of BGB challenged two traders coming from Myanmar by a boat through the Naf River, said Commanding Officer of Teknaf Battalion-2 Lt Col Sheikh Khalid Md Iftekhar.
The traders jumped into the river and managed to flee the scene when they sensed their presence.
Later, the BGB men managed to seized 10,000 pieces of Yaba pills and 1.014kg of crystal meth worth Tk5.37 crore from the boat.
