A man has stabbed his brother dead at Comilla village over a land dispute.
The murder, in broad daylight, was reported on Friday from the Sreepur of Chauddagram Upazila, said police.
Witnesses said Abdul Malek, 65, and his brother Hafez Ahmed, 50, got into an argument at a local tea shop around 10am over a land dispute.
At one point, Malek, who retired from the army a few years ago, picked a knife used in the shop and stabbed Hafeez.
OC Shubh Ranjan Chakma of Chauddagram police said that they were conducting raids to arrest the suspect.
Local UP member Md. Ali Haider said that Malek is of chaotic nature and that he has a notorious reputation in the area for his many questionable actions.
