Pradeep Kumar Das and Liaqat Ali, the death row convicts for the murder of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan, were transferred to Chittagong central jail on Saturday.
Jailor Mohammad Tariqul Islam Dewan confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
Pradeep Kumar Das, suspended officer-in-charge of Teknaf police, and Liaqat Ali, inspector of Baharchhara Investigation Centre, were brought to Chittagong jail from Cox's Bazar under special arrangements at 1.25pm, he said.
“They have been kept in the condemned cell no 32 of the jail upon instructions of higher authorities. We will keep them here until further notice,” he added.
On January 31, Cox's Bazar District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Ismail awarded death sentence to Liaqat Ali and Pradeep, and six others to life term imprisonment in the murder case of Major Sinha.
The court also acquitted seven others from the charges.
