Met Office: Temperature may rise on Tuesday

It may rain in the country on February 4

Update : 01 Feb 2022, 03:22 PM

The cold wave sweeping over the country for the past few days is predicted to lose strength and the temperature is expected to rise from Tuesday, said the Met Office on Monday.

The Met Office also said that it may rain in the country on February 4.

The weather may remain dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country, the Met Office said in its evening bulletin.

Moderate to thick fog may occur over river basins and northwestern parts of the country, it said. Additionally, light to moderate fog may occur elsewhere over the country from midnight to morning, the bulletin added.

Night temperature may remain between 6 to 13 degrees Celsius, according to Meteorologist Dr Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallik.

"Before the arrival of rain, the temperature usually goes up. Therefore, there is a forecast for rain on February 4 and 5. Temperatures will begin to increase from Tuesday,” Dr Mallik said.

“Those who live in rural areas will not experience discomfort from Tuesday due to the cold,” he added.

“Temperature will stay between 10 and 16 degrees Celsius before the rain,” he further said adding that a light cold wave is expected to follow the rain.

"A cold wave occurs when the difference between the highest and lowest temperatures is ten degrees or less," Dr Mallik explained.

Monday’s lowest temperature was recorded in Tetulia at 6.0 degrees Celsius while Teknaf witnessed the highest at 28 degrees Celsius.
