Police have seized 20,400 litres of edible oil from a godown at Taherpur Bazar in Rajshahi's Bagmara upazila.
Godown owner Swapan Saji was detained and the godown was sealed during the operation around 8:30pm on Monday.

A total of 95 out of 100 drums contained 19,360 litres of soybean oil while the rest contained 1,020 litres of mustard oil, said police.
It was a government godown in Taherpur Bazar that local traders use for rent, said Additional Superintendent of Police Ifte Khair Alam.

“The police raided the godown on a tip off that TCB products may be in the godown. At that time, 100 drums of oil were found there.”
Action will be taken against those responsible for stockpiling edible oil in a time of crisis, the police official said.
