A 40-year-old female garment worker was beaten to death in Bogra's Dhunat Upazila on Sunday night.
Deceased Jhaloki Begum, wife of Mohan Akand, was tied up and tortured during a village arbitration, said police. Her husband and son were also beaten up.
Locals said that the woman and her family had protested the construction of a drainage line adjacent to their home by their neighbours – Mojnu, Rubel and Bablu.
The trio was also fishing in the family pond of Jhaloki Begum.

On Sunday, the two sides participated in an arbitration that led to a tussle.
Mohan was beaten up mercilessly by the rival group. When the wife went to save her husband, she was too beaten with a bamboo pole.
Seriously injured Jhaloki was taken to Dhunat Upazila Complex. She was later referred to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, but she died while undergoing treatment.

Her son Milon Akand and brother-in-law Mizanur Akand were also injured during the attack. Among them, Mizanur's condition was critical.
Kripa Sindhu Bala, officer-in-charge (OC) of Dhunat police station, said those involved in the incident would be identified and arrested soon.
