A 15-year-old schoolboy was killed as a thunderbolt struck him at Jhenaigati Upazila in Sherpur on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Sagor Mia of Surihara village. He was a sixth-grader at Ahmednagar High School.

Monirul Alam Bhuiyan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Jhenaigati police station, said that a streak of thunderbolts struck while Sagor was fishing in a pond of the village during the rain around noon.
Later, he was rushed to Upazila Health Complex where the doctor declared him dead, the OC added.
