State Minister for Religious Affairs Md Faridul Haque Khan on Wednesday said that 57,856 Bangladeshi pilgrims would be allowed to perform Hajj this year as per the decision of the Saudi Arabia government.
He made the announcement while addressing a discussion and Iftar and Doa mahfil organized by Patharshi Union unit of Awami League as the chief guest in Islampur of Jamalpur, said a press release.

Faridul, also president of Islampur Upazila Awami League, said no previous government did development works like Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and urged the AL leaders and activists to get united and work for winning the next general election.
He also urged the party men to project the development activities that took place under the present government before the people.
President of Patharshi Union unit of AL and Union Parishad Chairman Md Iftekhar Alam presided over the function while General Secretary valiant Freedom Fighter Md Abdul Bari (Lichu) conducted it.
Islampur Upazila Parishad Chairman Advocate SM Jamal Abdul Naser, Islampur upazila AL General Secretary Advocate Abdus Salam and valiant Freedom Fighter Manikul Islam Manik spoke at the function, among others.
