Coastguards on Saturday found the body of a Chinese national who went missing two days ago after a tugboat capsized at Matarbari Channel in Moheshkhali upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
The deceased who was identified as Ziang Hong Chen used to work at the Matarbari port, said Lt Commander Abdur Rahman, media officer of the Bangladesh Coast Guard.
The body was recovered around 12:30pm from the channel adjacent to Matarbari Coal-fired Power Plant during a rescue operation by a diving team, he said.
On March 31, the tugboat sank near the channel.
Ashik Iqbal, officer-in-charge of Moheshkhali police station, said a team has been sent to the spot.
The body will be sent for autopsy once they receive a complaint from the Matarbari port authority, said the OC.
