Police have arrested a man over allegations of stabbing his wife and son to death in Gazipur.
Mofiz Uddin, 55, a rickshaw puller hailing from Tangail, was arrested for the double murder around 11:30 on Monday.
Gazipur Metropolitan’s Gacha Zone Police Commissioner Ahsanul Haq confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune
According to police, Mofiz stabbed his wife Rahima Begum,40, and their son Rokon,16, to death over a family dispute at their rented home in Gazipur.
He then fled to a garage in Dhaka’s Nayatala, shaving his beard to hide his identity, said Commissioner Huq.
Rahima’s brother Rashedul Islam filed a case with Gacha police on Monday after which police caught his used advanced technology during a raid at the garage.
