Two minor boys lost their lives and another person was seriously injured in a tragic road mishap in Chittagong on Sunday.
The children and one man were standing in front of a pickup truck, heading towards Dhaka from the Sitakunda bypass road area, when a lorry hit it in the morning, said Kumira Highway police outpost In-Charge Md Amir Faruq.
The boys died on the spot.
The deceased were identified as Mehedi Hasan Johnny, 13, from South Mehedinagar village of Mirsarai upazila, and Mohammad Sayem, 10, from Baraguli village in Bagerhat district.
Sayem's father Mintu was seriously injured in the incident. He was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
Police kept the bodies at the police outpost. They also seized the pickup van and the lorry.
The lorry driver is on the run.
