Police have arrested a woman and her boyfriend in a case of murdering her husband in Satkhira.
The arrestees are Rehena Khatun, 36, and Rabbi Hossain, 25.
The arrests were made on Wednesday after the victim's brother, former UP member Abul Kalam Azad, filed a case with Patkelghata police, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kanchan Kumar Roy said.
On Tuesday, locals accused Rehena of suffocating her husband Golam Hossain, 40. Police recovered the body on Wednesday morning.
Rabbi works as a staff at a rice mill in the Kapasdanga village of the union.
Locals had caught Rehana and Rabbi involved in an extramarital affair several times, said the victim’s brother.
On Tuesday night, Golam Hossain caught them in the act after which, Rehana and her boyfriend Rabbi killed him by suffocating him with a rope.
Rehna announced the next morning that her husband had died of a heart attack. But the locals informed the police as they did not believe her.
The duo were later produced in a court that sent them to jail pending an investigation.
