Three people, including a school student, were killed in two separate train accidents in Narsingdi’s Palash and Raipur upazilas.
Narsingdi Railway police outpost In-charge Imayedul Jahedi confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Mithila Akhter, a student of Pran-RFL Public School, Opu Bhoumik. The third victim is yet to be identified.
Witnesses said Mithila was walking on the rail tracks at the Ghorashal Railway Station, after getting her Covid-19 shot from school when a Dhaka-bound train hit her.
She was rushed to Rowshan General Hospital of the town, and was referred to Dhaka Medical College later in the day,
When her situation deteriorated at night, Mithila was taken to another private hospital in the capital, where the doctors pronounced her dead.
The unidentified individual wearing a red vest and gray pants was found at the same railway station on Saturday morning, while Opus's body was found at the Methikanda Railway Station in Raipur upazila, said the police officer.
“No complaints have been lodged regarding the incidents”, he added.
