Police have arrested a man in Jamalpur over allegations of killing his ex wife, whose initially unidentified body was found on Thursday.
The arrestee has been identified as Zahid Hasan, 20, Superintendent of Jamalpur Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) S.M. Salah Uddin said during a media call on Friday.
Melandaha police recovered the body of a woman from Defla area on Thursday afternoon.
The victim was later identified as Moushumi Aktar Nargis, 20, said police.
According to SP Salah Uddin, Zahid and Moushumi were a married couple who got divorced two months ago.
On February 2, Zahid convinced Nargis to come to Jamalpur from Dhaka, promising to marry her once more, he added.
The same night, he killed her after hitting her on the head.
The body was found the next day and sent for an autopsy, police said.
