Elected official among 10 arrested over question paper leak

They would use different devices to leak question papers and provide answers to candidates, say police

The Detective Branch (DB) of police on Friday arrested 10 members of a group suspected to be involved in leaking question papers to government job seekers. 

They were arrested during raids in Mirpur, Kakrail and Tejgaon areas from noon till night, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Additional Commissioner AKM Hafiz Akter in a media call on Saturday. 

The arrestees include Mahmudul Hasan Azad, an official at the Controller General of Accounts (CGA), and Mahbuba Nasreen Rupa, vice chairman of Dupchanchia upazila of Bogra.

The others are Noman Siddiqui, Al Amin Rony, Nahid Hasan, Shahid Ullah, Tanjir Ahmed, Raju Ahmed, Hasibul Hasan and Rakibul Hasan. 

Six ear devices, master cards, six mobile SIM holders, five bank cheques, seven non-judicial stamps, 10 smartphones, 18 admit cards and 3 sets of leaked question papers of a recruitment test were seized from their possession, reports UNB.

Police arrested the gang members based on intel that they were involved in leaking question papers of the test and supplying answers to candidates through digital devices and mobile apps.

The arrestees reportedly confessed to earning a huge sum of money by leaking question papers of different recruitment tests.
