A head-on collision between a bus and an autorickshaw has left four of a family, including a 1-year-old child, dead in Comilla on Thursday.
The crash was reported around 7.30am from Kaliachow in the district’s Laksam upazila, said police.
The victims have been identified as Bahar Mia, 55, his wife Parul Begum, 40, mother-in-law Golap Nahar, 70, and daughter Zannat.
Bahar and his mother-in-law died on the spot while his wife and daughter were declared dead at the Comilla Medical College Hospital, said Sub Inspector Jasim Uddin of Laksam highway police outpost.
The autorickshaw’s driver has been hospitalized with severe injuries, added the police officer.
Bahar was travelling with his family to Feni on the three-wheeler vehicle to attend the funeral of a relative, said his nephew Mir Hossain.
