Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed has visited various army camps in Chittagong Hill Tracts to exchange Eid greetings with staff.
He visited the Dhupshil army camp in Rangamati region and Ruma Zone in Bandarban region on the occasion of Holy Eid-ul-Azha on Wednesday.
Major General Md Saiful Abedin, the general officer commanding (GOC) of the 24th Infantry Division, received General Shafiuddin upon his arrival at Dhupashil army camp, said an ISPR press release.
The army chief exchanged Eid greetings and greetings with all the members of the Dhupashil army camp in Rangamati and Ruma Zone Sadar in Bandarban during his visit.
He also urged all ranks of the army to work together to ensure the security of the Chittagong Hill Tracts and to address the ongoing crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
During his visit, the army chief also planted tree saplings in both camps and attended an Eid banquet at Ruma Zone Sadar with all of the members, said the release.
Apart from the GOC 24th Infantry Division, senior officers of Army Headquarters, Rangamati region and other army officers of Ruma Zone were also present during the visit.
