The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against three employees of M Abdur Rahim Medical College in Dinajpur for illegal extortion in the name of unauthorized Covid sample collection and tampering the Covid report of the expatriates.
ACC Deputy Director Muhammad Jinnatul Islam filed the lawsuit in Dinajpur on Wednesday.
The accused are ward boy Khukom Ali, lab assistant Khandokar Ashraful Alam Royal and office assistant Mamunur Rashid Sarkar.
ACC Deputy Director (Public Relations) Muhammad Arif Sadeq confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Thursday.
The trio worked at the hospital’s Covid cell. They stole VTM tubes from the hospital’s Covid booths and started collecting Covid samples without permission of the hospital authorities.
