A man was shot dead during a clash between two armed groups in Raikhali area of Kaptai upazila in Rangamati on Thursday.
According to police and locals, sporadic shootings took place between the members of the two groups from morning till afternoon.
Upon receiving the information, a team of army members of the Kaptai Zone went to the spot in the afternoon and found the body of the man lying beside a road.
Later, Chandraghona police recovered the body of the deceased, presumed to be around 45 years old, and took it to the police station around 9pm.

Rangamati Additional Superintendent of Police Taposh Ranjan Ghosh said the miscreants and the deceased had yet to be identified. “We will know the details after an autopsy is performed,” he added.
In November, two people were killed in a reported act of gang violence in Gorjonia area under Wagga union of Kaptai over establishing dominance in the area.
