A Rangpur court has cleared Islamic speaker Afsanul Haque Adnan, better known as Abu Twa-haa Muhammad Adnan, and his two associates to return home after recording their statements.
Senior Judicial Magistrate AKM Hafizur Rahman on Friday night ordered police to hand them over to their families after they gave their confessional statements under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
The court had recorded their statements till 11pm Friday. Afterwards, Adnan’s mother Azeda Begum took him home around 11:30pm, confirmed court official Monowar Hossain.
Adnan and the two others -- Amir Hossain and Abdul Muhit -- were taken to the court from Detective Branch’s Rangpur metropolitan office around 9:30pm.
The trio was found on Friday, eight days after going missing on June 10.

Police said that Adnan had been hiding at his friend’s house in Gaibandha for the last few days due to personal matters.
Adnan’s disappearance had come to light last week when his wife Sabikunnahar sought Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s intervention to find him. She also held a press conference on Wednesday.
