A man was shot dead in broad dayligh at Shajahanpur upazila in Bogra on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was Mozaffor Hossain alias Baba Hujur, 52, a village kabiraj (quack). He was the son of Syed Mondol under Singra upazila of Natore.
According to local sources, miscreants on two motorcycles shot Mozaffor Hossain in the Bogra-Natore Highway Zora Agriculture College area while he was passing the area by a CNG-run autorickshaw around 9am. He died on the spot.
Mozaffor Hossain was also the director of a Qawmi Madrasa named Darul Hedayah in Bogra town, where he was living with his second wife.
Bogra Sadar Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Faisal Mahmud said police are investigating the matter.
The body was sent to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, Bogra, he added.
