A man reportedly raped a ninth-grade madrasa girl in Nangalkot, Comilla, on Monday night.
The father of the student filed a case against Kausar Majumder, 28, on rape charges with Nangalkhot police station.
The alleged rapist, Kausar, is the son of Rabiul Haque Majumder of Madhabpur village in Nangalkot upazila’s Periya union of Comilla.
According to case details, the rape survivor is a student of Class IX of Srikanta Dakhil Mahila Madrasa. She was living at her grandfather's house and going to Madrasa from there.
When the madrasa was closed due to coronavirus, she came back to her house in Madhabpur village of Periya union in Nangalkot. Last Monday (April 12) at around 2am, when she went out of the house to use the outdoor toilet, Kausar grabbed her by the face and took her to a building nearby and allegedly raped her.
The reported rapist threatened to kill her by holding a knife to her throat when she tried to shout. While reportedly raping her Kausar hit her in the nose.
Later, he left the girl in the building and fled the spot. When the girl screamed for help, she was rescued from the building.
Nangalkot police SI Mofizul Islam Khan said the girl had undergone medical examination already in connection with the rape. The alleged rapist is currently on the run.
