At least two children died from electrocution in Kurigram.
The incident occurred at the Balatari village of the district’s Naodanga Union Parishad on Wednesday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Al Amin, 12, and his cousin Alimul, 7.
Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune, Phulbari police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rajib Kumar Roy, said: “An unnatural death case is being filed over the incident.”
According to locals, the two children got themselves tangled with a live wire that was for an electric irrigation pump on Wednesday morning.
They were then rushed to the Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors declared them dead.
