The law enforcers are conducting anti-militancy raids in remote char areas under Gaibandha Sadar upazila.
A joint team of district police, Detective Branch (DB) of police and Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit started the drive on Wednesday morning.
During the drive, the law enforcers detained a robber, Aiyub Ali, from West Sidhai Char around 8:30am.
Md Abdullah Al Faruk, additional superintendent of Gaibandha police, said: “The special drive is being carried out following direction from the higher authorities of the government.”
However, he said they did not find any militant den as of 12 noon.
