River Police have seized around 1866 kilograms of jatka (ilish fry) from Muktarpur launch ghat area in Munshiganj.
Acting on a tip-off, a River Police team conducted a raid from midnight till Saturday morning and recovered the jatka ilish from the dock area.

Police suspect the fish had been kept there with the aim of being transported to different places in the country, including Dhaka, for selling.
The recovered fish have been distributed among several madrasas, orphanages and impoverished people of the area, said Muktarpur river police station Sub-Inspector Md Nurul Islam.
