Skull, bones of missing college girl found in Chuadanga

The skull and bones of a college-going girl from Kushtia was recovered from Damurhuda in Chuadanga about three months after she went missing.

The deceased is Meem Khanam, whose family was informed after police found the certificate of her JSC examination lying near the remains of her body, according to police.

After the body was recovered on Saturday, the girl’s family after seeing the certificate, clothes, burqa, and other belongings identified Meem on Sunday afternoon. 

She is the daughter of Madhu Khan of Pipulbaria village in Daulatpur upazila of Kushtia, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Damurhuda Model Police Station Abdul Khaleq.

He said the bones and skull were sent to  Chuadanga Sadar Hospital for autopsy after it was found scattered at the bank of Mathabhanga River at Wazirpur village of Damurhuda.

The OC said one of Mim's relatives told police that she had fled the house with a youth of the same area three months ago and since then she was missing.

OC Abdul said a murder case was filed and police are making drives to arrest the people involved.
