Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested a man and three of his associate for holding a teenager captive for 45 days and raping her in Cox’s Bazar.
A team of Chittagong RAB-7 arrested the accused from different areas of Cox’s Bazar Sadar upazila on Thursday.
The accused were handed over to Cox’s Bazar Model police station, the station’s Officer in-Charge (OC) Munir Ul Gias said.
He said: “The accused are sent to jail through court on Friday morning.”

The teen was taken to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital, the OC added.
The arrestees are, main accused Shahab Uddin, son of Abdul Gani from Khurulia Chairmanpara, and his associates Arman Hossain, Nurul Alam, and Lokman.
According to the teen’s mother, Shahab Uddin gave a loan of Tk35,000 to the teen’s father. When the father failed to repay the loan, Shahab Uddin abducted the teen with his associates.
Sahahb Uddin told the teen’s family he will not return her until they repay the loan.
The teen’s parents sought help from the local member of the union but failed to get their daughter back.

Then, the mother called emergency helpline 999 and asked for help.
On October 11, police raided the house of Shahab Uddin but didn’t find anyone as Shahab Uddin fled his house with the teen earlier.
Then RAB conducted a raid in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday and arrested the accused and his associates as well as rescued the teen.
The teen’s mother filed a case in this connection with Cox’s Bazar Model police station.
