Police arrested a man for sharing an altered photo of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Facebook from Chirirbandar’s Banglabazar in Dinajpur.
The arrestee, Shaheen Babu, 42, is a union parishad member of Saitara Union’s Ward 2.
Confirming the incident, Chirirbandar police station OC Subrata Kumar Sarker said: “He is under our custody. We will take legal action after the questioning is over.”
On October 7, a distorted image of the prime minister circulated from a Facebook account named Tarek Ahmad, which was later shared by the accused Shaheen on October 11.
