ASI held with pistol, shisha in Chuadanga

The detainee, identified as Humayun Kabir, 37, is posted at Karpasdanga police outpost

On Saturday night, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested an assistant sub-inspector of police with a pistol, 10 bullets, and close to 60 grams of shisha from Dhannoghora village under Darshana police station.

The detainee, identified as Humayun Kabir, 37, is posted at Karpasdanga police outpost, said Khalikuzzaman, commander of BGB-6, at a press briefing on Sunday.

Humayun is the son of late Abul Hossain from Narail’s Borogati village.

Khalikuzzaman said, on a tipoff, a BGB team led by Nayek Mostafizur Rahman, conducted a raid at Dhannoghora on Saturday night. They detained Humayun and an easy-bike driver named Jahirul. The team also seized a pistol, 10 bullets and some 60 grams of shisha from their possession.

The detained were handed over to Darshana police station and a case was filed, he added.

Speaking on the matter, Darshana police station Officer-in-Charge (OC), Mahabubur Rahman, said BGB filed a case against Humayun and Jahirul.
