Police recovered the body of a minor girl in Tangail whose family says she was raped and then murdered.
The victim has been identified as Shanta, 10. Her family found her body near her home in the village of Mirpur Maddhyapara inTangail Sadar upazila, shortly after she went missing on Wednesday afternoon.
Shanta's father Sadek Ali on Thursday said: "My daughter was killed after she was raped. I demand exemplary punishment for the people involved."
Tangail Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge Mir Mosharrof Hossain said: "The body has been taken to Tangail General Hospital morgue for autopsy. We can determine the cause of death once we have the autopsy report. We have also brought four people to the police station for interrogation."
