Hundreds of Santals staged a human chain on Monday in Gobindaganj upazila, Gaibandha, demanding justice for the killings of their men.
The human chain was done at Katamor at around 1pm, under the banner of Sahebganj-Bagda Farm Bhumi Uddhar Sangram Committee.
They also demanded the government return the land of Sahebganj-Bagda sugarcane farm to the Santal community.
Activists of the Jatiya Adivasi Parishad and the Adivasi-Bengali Songhaty Parishad, also participated in the human chain.
The Santals also brought out a procession at the Ikkhukhamar area in Gobindaganj upazila to realize their demands.
On November 6, 2016, a three way clash broke out between the Santals, staff of Rangpur Sugar Mills, and the police, over the eviction of indigenous people from the lands in dispute.
The clash left three Santal men dead and 20 others injured, including several policemen.
