Veteran journalist and freedom fighter Md Saiduzzaman Sarker Tara died from Covid-19 on Friday night at the age of 70.
Saiduzzaman, a senior member of the Bogra Press club and also executive editor of the Weekly Hatiar newspaper, died at around 8:30pm while undergoing treatment at Bogra Mohammad Ali Hospital.
He was also the organizing secretary for the Sector Commanders Forum of Rajshahi’s divisional committee.
Dr Khairul Bashar Amin , residential medical officer of Mohammad Ali Hospital said Saiduzzaman was admitted to the hospital on Thursday following breathing problems. He later tested positive for Covid-19."
The veteran journalist is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter, the doctor added.
