Two people were killed when a roadside tree, that workers were cutting, fell on their motorcycle at Shaldia area of Lakhai upazila, Habiganj on Tuesday noon.
The deceased were identified as Palash, 27, and Monju Miah,30, from Dharmandal village of the district's Nasirnagar upazila, said Lakhai police station officer-in-Charge Saidul Islam.
The OC said workers were cutting down roadside trees at Shaldia on Tuesday. At one point, a tree fell on three people when they were going to a place on a motorcycle. Two of them died on the spot while the rest sustained injuries.
The dead bodies were sent to Habiganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy, the OC added.
