A case was filed over the murder of Dhaka University (DU) student Mehedi Hasan Rajib in Tangail's Bhuapur upazila on Friday.
The deceased's father Golam Mostofa alias Dulal filed the case with Bhuapur police station, accusing four people at around 12:10 am. The accused are Rajib's aunt Bebi and her three sons Jihad, Sifat and Rahat.
Confirming the matter, Bhuapur police station Officer-in-Charge (investigation) Enamul Haque said the accused are currently on the run.
"Police are conducting raids to arrest the accused." the OC said, "The body was handed over to the family after an autopsy."
Earlier, on Thursday noon, Mehedi Hasan Rajib, a former student of the law department of Dhaka University was reportedly stabbed by his cousin Jihad, following an altercation in Garabari village, that ensued over plucking mangoes.
Later, critically injured Rajib was taken to Tangail General Hospital where he died at around 5:30 pm.
Rajib was the vice president of Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haque Hall BCL at the Dhaka University.
