Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained a married couple accused in a murder case from Dakshin Surma upazila of Sylhet on Friday.
The accused Mousumi Begum, 23, and Ruhul Amin, 35, have confessed to their crimes saying that the victim Yunus Ahmed Shamim, 38, used to harass Mousumi and made inappropriate advances towards her, said a press release signed by Obain Rakhain, assistant superintendent of police and media officer of RAB-9.
Tipped-off, RAB-9 Camp Commander Lt Col Abu Musa Md Shariful Islam led a drive at Sreerampur under Moglabazar police station and detained the couple, added the press release.
On Wednesday, Yunus Ahmed Shamim, a lawyer's assistant was murdered by Ruhul and one absconding accused Shahed after the couple called him at their house in Beanibazar upazila, the release also added.
The victim's younger brother Md Yusuf Ahmed filed a case against unknown assailants at Dakshin Surma police station following the murder.
