Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained a suspected member of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Madaripur.
The detainee is Jaber Hawlader, 26.
Acting on a tip-off, RAB-8 of the Madaripur camp, conducted a raid and detained Jaber from the west Shwarmangal area of the upazila, said Md Tazul Islam, camp commander of RAB-8.
The detainee confessed to participate in secret meetings and regular recruitment of militant members throughout the country during a preliminary interrogation, he added.
Legal actions will be taken against the detained and his accomplices will be brought to book based on intelligence information, the RAB officer further said.
