Two farm workers killed, four injured in Bogra road accident

The workers were heading to Naogaon from Chittagong for harvesting paddy

At least two farm workers were killed and five others were injured in a collision between a bus and a truck in Sherua Bottola area of Sherpur upazila in Bogra on Tuesday morning.

The deceased identified as Mosarraf Hossain, 45 and Abu Hanif, 35 hailed from Shital Bazar area of Naogaon's Patnitala upazila.

The injured Akmal Hossain,40, Ashikur Rahman, 36, Palash, 35 and Ershad, 34 are currently undergoing treatment at Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital (SZRMCH).

Confirming the matter,  Sherpur police station Officer in Charge Humayun Kabir said a bus carrying at least 48 farm workers was heading to Naogaon from Chittagong's Rangunia upazila for harvesting paddy.

"At one point, an empty truck collided with the bus when it reached Sherua Bottola area in Bogra, killing two workers on the spot and injuring four others."
