A member of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS) has been shot dead and his wife injured by miscreants in Barbindu Ghat village under Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati district.
The deceased is Dudorvo Chakma, 45, an activist of the PCJSS-MN Larma reformist group.
Dudorvo was watching television with his wife Uvchuli Chakma, 40, when the miscreants open fired on them from outside of his house around 10pm on Wednesday, leaving Dudorvo dead and his wife injured.
Baghaichhari police station Officer-in-Charge MM Manzurul Islam confirmed the matter.
A leader of the JSS-MN Larma group said Dudorvo was suspended from the party for breaking rules and they suspect the attack was carried out by activists of the opposition party.
