The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has arrested an arms dealer from Benapole border area.
The arrestee, identified as Sobuj Miah, 25, was arrested from Beltola area of Sadipur village at Benapole port station around 10:30pm on Sunday.
Acting on a tip-off, a BGB team raided the Beltola area and nabbed Sobuj along with firearms.
BGB seized a 9mm pistol, seven bullets and two magazines from him during the arrest.
Confirming the matter on Monday, 49 BGB Battalion Commander Lt Col Md Selim Reza said Sobuj was handed over to Benapole police station and a case has been filed against him under the Arms Act.
